Jacksonville National Cemetery

As a kid, my father regularly read me poetry, and he helped me learn to speak French, Today these are still pleasures for me. A friend recently shared this lovely poetry reading with me, beautifully read by a young French girl.  Papa would have liked it. I listen and imagine him here listening, too. It is so lovely, on liberty.

I’m so thankful for my father, Adrian.  He was a diplomat, a world traveler with an adventurous spirit, and a wonderful storyteller.  

We saw the world together, literally, and through his stories.  He gave me a sense of adventure, confidence to explore the world.  He taught me a love of poetry, of literature, and of languages.  He was curious about people and places.  These things bring me joy.  When I read a thoughtful poem or get on a plane or train to visit another country, I know Papa is with me, and this comforts me. 

I love him so much.  He was and will always be such an amazing Papa Bear.  I love you lots and lots, Papa.
