Norfolk - Audrey Whitney, Dearly loved by her family went to be with her Lord on August 16th 2017. She was born on December 21st 1922, the oldest of three daughters of the late David Lucas and Estelle (Lucas) Otey. She was predeceased by her husband Shirley Whitney, sons Bruce Lucas and Michael Whitney and her sister Juanita Banks.

Audrey is survived by her loving children Anita Fletcher and Robert (Emma) Wilks, sister Valeria Daily, her grandchildren Kevin Wilks, Armir Fletcher, and Alexandria (Orlander) Clements Jr, seven great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Audrey served her country in WWII as a member of the 6888th General Postal Directory in England, France and the United States. She was an active member of the International Post Mistress for over 20 years. She was a member of Mount Gilead Baptist church for over fifty years, serving in the food ministry and clothes closet helping local and elderly people in need, She also worked and retired from the Naval Supply Center in Norfolk, VA receiving numerous awards during her time of employment.

She will truly be missed by her family, friends and local community.

A viewing will be held at Keith Matthews Funeral Home 5665 E Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23502 ON 21 August 2017, starting at 3 pm.

A Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 22nd at Mt Gilead Baptist Church, 1057 Kennedy St, Norfolk, VA 23513 followed by interment at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery 5310 Milner's Rd, Suffolk, VA 23439.
