Brenda J. Houston-Williams was a trailblazing electrical engineer and Air Force captain whose career reflected her commitment to service and excellence. Born in Houston, Texas, she pursued her passion for engineering at the University of Texas, later earning a master's degree from Western New England College.

In 1978, she embarked on a distinguished career in the United States Air Force, where she demonstrated skill and leadership in her field. Her service took her to Massachusetts before she was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base in 1983 as part of the Air Force Systems Command. She made Clinton, Maryland, her home during her time at Andrews.

Despite her dedication to her career, health challenges led to her early retirement in March. On November 27, at just 34 years old, she passed away from cancer at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Brenda was a devoted mother to her two children, Andrea and Christopher Williams. Tragically, she passed before she had the opportunity to meet her beloved grandchildren, Drew and Austin Simms.

She is remembered with love by her mother, Emma Spaulding of Key West, Florida; her sisters, Carolyn MacDonald and Flora Houston; and her brothers, Eric, Malcolm, Stephen, and Xavier Houston. Brenda J. Houston-Williams’ legacy lives on in her family, her service, and the impact she made in both her personal and professional life.
