My Name is Rob Patrick, I  just learned of Dean's passing, I served with Dean at Fort Hood, Texas in the 1st / 78th field artillery unit. Dean and I hung out quite often. We would go to Austin a lot and I  remember that we went to a Pat Benitar concert once. Dean was a great friend to me. He was a great medic and he was also very funny. I was 17 when I got to Fort Hood and he was a blessing to me. I found an old letter that he wrote to me in 1983 tonight which is why I surch him on Google, that was how I learned of his passing. My condolences goes out to his family. Dean I always thought of you often I  wished that we had gotten together to laugh about the old days in TX.
You truly were a great friend.
