ED SAM FONG

Ed Sam Fong was born in Sacramento, California, on May 6th, 1923. In his early life, he worked as a semi-skilled welder and flame cutter as he attended a local public high school. At age 19, Ed was drafted into World War II. As a semi-skilled worker, he was assigned to an Assault Craft Unit under the Army Air Corps fighting on the Pacific front. He held the rank of Private First Class. Ed Sam Fong was presumed to have been killed in action on 26 April 26th, 1943, at the age of 19 while on active duty.
