Los Angeles National Cemetery

I  met  Edward  in  1972  as  a  freshman  at  North  Hollywood  High  School.  I  always  called  him  Edward,  never  Ed  or  Eddie.  His  Mom  also  always  called  him  Edward.  Edward  was  my  first  boyfriend,  my  first  Love.  
He  was  the  kindest  and  most  sincere  person.  He  believed  and  trusted  in  God.  He  always  practiced  kindness  and  honesty  to  everyone  he  met.  He  cherished  his  family  and  friendships and had a heart of gold. His  sense  of  humor  was  his  superpower.  He always gave great advice and was a straight shooter. He  was  so  very  smart.  He  worked  very  hard  at  tutoring  me  in  Algebra.  
I  was  fortunate  enough  to  know  and  spend  time  with  his  Mom,  brother  and  2  sisters.  
Fortunately,  Edward  and  I  stayed  in  touch  through  the  years.  The  last  time  was  just a couple months before he passed, and  I  thank  God  for  that.  
Edward,  you  now  get  to  be  with  your  wonderful  Mom,  brother  and  sister.  
I  will  remember  you  smile  and  contagious  laugh  forever.  Thank  you  for  keeping  your  patience  while  teaching  me  so  many  of  life’s  valuable  lessons;  Algebra,  teaching  me  to  drive  and  to  parallel  park.

I met Eddie at the Teen Center in 1974 or 1975. We lost touch for a while but reunited about 20 years ago. Ed was one of the nicest and most thoughtful and generous people Ive known, to know him you couldn’t help but love him. His sense of humor always left us laughing. The world was definitely a better place because of Ed and I’ll be forever grateful that I got to have him in my life. Love and Miss you Eddie, soar with the other angels my friend, you most assuredly earned your wings.
