Hello Ms. Cox, Thank you for your service to America during WWII as part of the 6888 Central Postal Directory Battalion (SixTripleEight). In 2018, your unit finally received recognition for your role in processing for delivery over 17 million pieces of mail while stationed in Birmingham, England and Rouen, France. Since 2018, there's been a monument dedicated at Buffalo Soldiers Park, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, a Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal from then-Secretary Defense, Dr. Mark Esper, a certificate of recognition from the Congressional Black Caucus, and a blue historical marker plaque in Birmingham, England. Thank you for your service.

Thank you, Aunt Emily, for serving our country in this outstanding manner. I've always loved and admired you. Learning of your role in the 6888 Battalion just confirmed what I've always known: You are a courageous woman who faced life's challenges with grace and dignity. I and rest of the family are so proud of you. Rest in peace - Patricia
