Frank Toledo, a Navajo and native of New Mexico, is a Notable burial at https://www.cem.va.gov/cems/nchp/santafe.asp.  He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on October 17, 1942. Cpl. Toledo served as a Navajo Code Talker in the Pacific Theater during World War II, until January 1946. A photograph of Toledo, and cousin, Preston Toledo, relaying coded information was included in a traveling exhibition by the Smithsonian Institution beginning in 2006. This image made them a face of the Code Talkers for many. The exhibit followed the presentation of the Congressional Silver Medal to Code Talkers in 2001.
