My daddy was born and raised in Cedaredge Colorado the oldest  brother of four. He was a loving brother to Leanna Charles and Patricia. In his younger years he helped on the family farm and then worked hard on the family dairy until he graduated and enlisted in the Marines with his best friend and then brother in-law Gary Tharp they remained good friends throughout his life. He met Kathryn Knowles while he was stationed in North Carolina and six months later they were married and that marriage lasted until there passing 2022 for 65 years. He and my mother came back home and made Colorado there home and raised three children Tia, Brook, and Michael who passed away in 2016. My fathered worked for the Division of Wildlife for thirty two years he was an exemplary employee and met and made friends where ever he went. He retired in the late 90's and just could not sit still he hired on with Walmart and worked there until he moved in 2015 to Arkansas to live with his daughter Tia. Tia would later decide to move to Kansas and they lived in Kansas until 2021  when he and Kathy decided that they missed Colorado and moved back. He passed away in March of 2022 and his beloved wife Kathy soon followed in May. He taught me a life time of lessons and I am the woman I am today because of him. I am a correctional officer in Omaha Nebraska and will serve my county until I retire that is the work ethic he instilled in myself and my brother.  I miss him and his wise words every day.

My dad was a trickster one year for April fools we were spending spring break at Lake Powel. My father woke up early and made us all breakfast but he put cotton balls in our pan cakes and it was awful he laughed and laughed. He would always play little jokes on us on our birthdays and April fools.
