Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery

You always tell yourself that there’s time, but it passes too quickly.. and then the opportunity is gone. So many things I wanted to ask, but most of all I wish he’d had the time to get to know his grandsons. My oldest looked like me when he was younger, now he looks like my old man in his early military photos..long and lean, in face and stature. 
He was a good man and a great father. He and my mother kept us clothed, fed, safe and loved. They sacrificed so that we could have the things that others didn’t. You can’t wish for better parents. 
He spent his last years giving back to the community at large and he’d still be giving, but his time was cut short. A shining example of how a life should be lived. He will be forever missed.
