He received the Medal of Honor while serving in the U.S. Army, Company G, 8th U.S. Cavalry, for actions in the Chiricahua Mountains, Arizona Territory, October 29, 1869. Indian Wars Medal of Honor Recipient. Born in 1847, at Columbus, Ohio, he served as a Private in Company G, 8th U.S. Cavalry. At the Chiricahua Mountains, Arizona, on October 29, 1869, he displayed heroism while engaging with a raiding band of hostile Apache Indians. For gallantry in action, he was promoted Corporal and awarded the Medal of Honor.  Carr died in 1891.  https://valor.militarytimes.com/hero/1707.
