A loving father, husband, son, brother. That's who Matthew was. Matthew was my father who allowed me to dream and dream big. Shortly before he died he took me to breakfast and said if a man doesn't do things for you like I do mommy, I want you to run to the nearest exit. My dad said he is supposed to pull out your chair, and open doors for you and most of all love you unconditionally. My father told me to dream big. My dad knew I was gonna be good in the arts. Dancing and singing he saw something in me my mom didn't see and when he made that promise to take me to Julliard School of the performing arts. I knew he saw something in me my too. He was a kind man on the inside but hard on the outside. He was my Hero and will forever be my Hero.

National Memorial Cemetery at Quantico

My father was the best man alive. Me and sister La Shawn miss him everyday of our lives. We are trying to find the people that took him from us. He was my mothers high school sweetheart and they got married one year before his death. My mother misses him so much and does his girls. My sister and I felt like he was ripped from us never seeing his girls become women. When he died I was 5 years old and my sister was 9. I still remember the full military funeral we had at the cemetery like it was yesterday. Someone please tell why it's so hard to let go. Time is supposed to heal but for me it only get worse as time goes on. The military did nothing to help my mother find the people who killed him. She never received any of his benefits either and we struggled. I never went to school because I couldn't pay for it. The military owes us an explanation. My sister and I want answers on who killed him or was he on a secret mission. The military needs to get in contact with us about this matter. He died alone and was found at the navel yard in DC. Someone please tell me something. He didn't deserve this. I loved my life without my father and my mother her husband with no answers. Why didn't we get our full benefits from the military? Why didn't my mother receive her money from his death? I can't even pay for college because I can't pay for it. The military owes us an explanation.
