Ode to My Dad

In loving memory of Merlin 
Curtis Grue,  from Clearbrook MN, aged 87, who left this world to embark on his final voyage. Born and raised on the family farm, he traded fields for flight and  the vast oceans.

Joining the Navy at a young age, For 21 years, he sailed across the globe & soared transcontinental flights with his crew, cherishing every moment as the best years of his life. It was during his service that he met a kindred spirit, my Mom , Martha Marie who bravely served in the Army.
Later in life , back in his home state, he added another family into his circle. Part of his patchwork quilt of life.

Among the many places he called home & traveled : Scotland held a special place in his heart. Its welcoming locals, charming hospitality, and picturesque landscapes left an indelible mark on his soul. He often spoke fondly of the tea and crumpets enjoyed amidst the surreal beauty of the Scottish countryside.

A man of simple pleasures, he found joy in the timeless melodies of old school country music, the nostalgia of classic movies and TV shows, and the freedom of road-trips accompanied by yours truly , & my Cat Mason whom he referred to as bro. Loved football and cheered the Kansas City Chefs on to the Super Bowl.
His sassy yet kind spirit illuminated the lives of all who knew him.

Though he may have left this earthly stage, we take solace in knowing that he's now reunited with loved ones in a Heavenly grand ol' opry, where the music plays on for eternity. Rest in peace, dear father, your legacy lives on in the hearts of those you touched.

He is survived by his beloved cat, Margie. Daughters Linda, Karen & Charlene 
His sisters , Rosemary, Edna, Diane & brothers: Derald & Eddie. 
Among those he will be joining at the Heavenly Grand Ol Opry :
His beloved wife, Martha,
His sisters Emilie and Ruthie.
His Bro, Mason and favorite horse, Beauty

His spirit lives on in his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
