This hero is my favorite. I always remember what he did. I always donate to WWP for a tribute to his name.

a grateful nation remembers your service and sacrifice.

I deployed with Michael in 2006 to Iraq as his Command Master Chief. It was his first deployment with SEAL Team Three. Mike was assigned to Two Troop which was made up of Charlie and Delta Platoon and known as Task Unit Bruiser. Two Troop had a storied history as one of the first Troops to deploy into Combat in 2004 and participated in the Battle of Fallujah attaching to the First Marine Expeditionary Force commanded by General Mattis. The 2006 deployment would send Two Troop along with two other Troops back to Iraq and WAR. Mikes Troop was engaged in the heaviest fighting to date in Remade Iraq. They were engaging the enemy daily in the streets fighting alongside the Army's famous 1-506 infantry Regiment and the Marines from the 1st MARDIV once again commanded by General Zilmer and his Command Sargent Major Thomas Howard. Two Troop was comprised of mostly SEAL veterans with multiple deployments to include Chris Kyles, Mark Lee (KIA) Ryan Job and Seth Stone all who have joined our Lord and Savior. Mike was among a top group of new SEALs coming to SEAL Team Three and received praise from his leadership during the pre-deployment training cycle and during his time in Combat up to his death in Sep-2006. There are Navy SEAL’s, Marines and Army personnel alive today due to Mikes willingness to stand in the streets and fight a determined enemy. He was awarded the Medal of Honor and was most deserving of that recognition. The three SEALs on the roof top with him that day owe their lives to him. The impact of Mike and his SEAL Team on winning that Battle cannot be overstated. It stands as the most decorated deployment in Naval Special Warfare's history. He no doubt holds a place of Honor in our hearts and minds, and we should honor him always as one of Americas finest Navy SEAL's. Long Live the Brotherhood. R/ Marcus Presson, SOCM USN retired

Thank you for your service, sacrifice, and love for your comrades in arms. You were, and are, an inspiration to so many.

Never a day goes by that you don't inspire me and my own service to our nation. I am forever indebted to you in ways you can't imagine. Of course I thank you for saving Doug's life and the others personally, but also you are a daily inspiration in the way you lived your life and made us all laugh.
Love and Honor, CH (CPT) Jen Lane, US Army Chaplain Corps
