Landsman Michael Cassidy (Civil War) is a Notable burial at https://www.cem.va.gov/cems/nchp/hampton.asp. He received the Medal of Honor while serving in the U.S. Navy for actions on board the U.S.S. Lackawanna during the Battle of Mobile Bay, Alabama, August 5, 1864. Born in 1837 in Ireland, Cassidy immigrated to the United States and was living in New York when he joined the Navy. Cassidy died in 1908.
