Ryan Eric Logan, 33, of Indian Land, SC, beloved son of John and April Logan passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at home.

Born on July 25, 1990 in Beaufort, SC, Ryan was a 2009 graduate of Northside High School in Jacksonville, NC. He proudly joined the United States Air Force in 2013, and retired in 2023. At the time of his retirement, Ryan was a decorated Dedicated Crew Chief on the F22 fighter jet. He was a multi award “Top Performer” during several deployments. His awards and medals included the Air and Space Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Award, Air and Space Outstanding Unit Award (second award), Air Force Good Conduct Medal (third award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Air and Space Longevity Medal (second award), USAF NCO PME Graduate Ribbon, and the Air and Space Training Ribbon. During his Air Force career, Ryan served at Tyndall AFB, Eglin AFB, and Langley AFB.

Ryan brought his family 33 years of pride, joy, laughter, and most of all, love. He will be remembered for his kindness, playfulness, generosity, sacrificial love, and absolute loyalty toward family and friends, along with his famously sarcastic humor. More than that, he’ll be remembered for his award winning smile.

Ryan was a game master, whether on a video screen, a playing board, or a 12 sided rubix cube, Ryan loved puzzles and games of all kinds, especially when he could enjoy them with his family. He played bass guitar, made jewelry, and loved movies, especially Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and just about any comedy. More than anything on earth, Ryan loved and embraced being “Uncle Monkey” to his nine nephews and nieces. Ryan was a sincere follower of his savior Jesus, and attended and helped usher at All Saints Anglican Church.

In addition to his parents, Ryan leaves behind three siblings to cherish his memory: Bonnie Malicki and husband Matt; John Logan, Jr. and wife Samantha; Amy Vega and husband Michael; and 9 nieces and nephews: Brian, Warren, Mackenzie, Blake, Garrett, Paisley, Tobias, Ava and Parker. He leaves behind many friends, but none more significant than his best friend Megan, and his beloved Shih Tzu Lance.

Ryan’s family received family and friends on Sunday, March 31, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Weddington Chapel, 3700 Forest Lawn Drive, Matthews. Funeral Services to celebrate his life were held on Monday, April 1, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. at All Saints Anglican Church on Hemby Road. Ryan received full military honors at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, SC at 1:00 p.m. following the church service.  He is buried in section 8, site 7.
