McGlynn, a Palm City resident, died July 11. He was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1969, raised in Stuart and graduated from Martin County High School in 1986. He finished his private pilot's license at Witham Field. McGlynn graduated from Florida State University, where he completed an ROTC program in 1991, and was commissioned to Columbus Air Force Base in Mississippi, where his older brother Don was a T-37 instructor. After finishing his training, McGlynn worked at an aerial port in Charleston, South Carolina, and moved on to fly C-5 cargo planes out of Dover, Delaware, from 1995 to 2000. He was reassigned to Laughlin Air Force Base in Johnstone, Texas, from 2000 to 2003, returned to Dover for three more years, eventually ending up at Randolph Air Force Base in 2006, where he was a pilot instructor. Before returning to Palm City with his family, McGlynn returned numerous times to the Treasure Coast to fly in both a T-37 "Tweet" trainer jet and a T-6 "Texan II" Turboprop trainer in the Stuart Air Show and to participate in the show's static displays. After retiring from the Air Force, McGlynn returned to Stuart and was active with the Southeast Florida Honor Flight and Run For Honor 5K.
