Rest in peace uncle Troy. It saddened me to find out you were off this earth for so long with no family notice. All memories live in our hearts.  Thank you for serving. We love you & miss you dearly. ❤️🪽

I was so hurt when I heared the news of uncle Troys death. It was like the military didn't even care to make an effort to find his family members to let them know so that we can morn and have a funeral for him; and to know what he died from or was dying from. At least he would have had his family that loved him very much close to him in trying times.  When I was trying to join the marines and was on the phone with a recruiter, you made sure I didn't join by scream to me" you see what they done to me? Its not gonna happen to you, hang up that phone"....
 No matter what uncle troy made sure he was by his family for Christmas dinner and I was very happy to see him just like my other uncles and aunts. I really do miss his presents. I know everyone has to go sometime but I wish his departure wasnt like that....

Why do we always wait until our loved ones are gone to let them know how much they are loved? I am still dealing with the fact that you’re gone forever. It doesn’t seem real to me at all, giving the fact that this news is still fresh even though you passed away five years ago. All I can do now is remember the times we laughed, you told your jokes and teased me mercifully. We were the youngest of the siblings so we related to each other more. When you left for the military to become a Marine, I was proud and scared for you at the same time. I remember when you would call and tell me about your experiences in boot camp. The trials and prejudices you faced just for being who you were. Still you persevered and survived a horrendous war. You my brother were strong, courageous, resilient, smart, and a fighter in every sense of the word. I never realized this until now and maybe you didn’t realize it about yourself either. You came home a different person, quite and reclusive, someone no one recognized. Only God knows what you went through during your time in the Gulf War.
 My biggest regret is that you did not get the celebration and acknowledgment you deserved. You’re a Hero! One that surpassed more than anyone else in the family. 
This tribute is just a portion of what you need. Now that you’re gone, I will make it my duty to see that you get the recognition and a hero’s honor. I love you big bro and I will miss you always.

My youngest brother, Troy. We should have been closer as brothers. Our family life experiences brought us close as we grew up together but yet caused us to drift apart from each other. I love Troy. We shared times together, I can tell you that his most favorite musical artist is Bounty Killer. He identified with Bounty killer mainly because his lyrics touched him deeply as it also told Troy's feelings, thoughts, and experiences in life as he lived it.
I Love Troy because he was fun to be with. He is the "coolest" person I know. He never took on or worried about any matter. So cool! He is trustworthy, forgiving, understanding, patient, altruistic and a very loving person. He had a lot of love in his heart, much more than he'd ever display to you, much more than you can imagine.
I vividly remember when he said to me that he's going into the Marines. I gave him my full support and blessings for I knew that he  had the right cut to be a US Marine, and I was very proud of him for making that decision. I knew he was gonna make it, he was gonna be successful as a US Marine. Our mother and I visited him in Camp Lejune. I wrote him many letters while he served in the Iraq Persian Gulf War. Troy is a Successful US Marine!
When he returned from The Gulf our relationship grew and we became even closer. We listened to music together, drank beer and just hung out having great times. Troy was not the same as when he left to enter The Marines, but he was the same brother and person whom I knew all my life. His experiences in The Marines, and the impact of the Persian Gulf War left him struggling with so many health and wellness issues that were nearly impossible to bear.
I love my brother Troy and I miss him so much. Everyday I miss him so much more. His life's legacy should be recognized and shared especially with his entire family.

Troy was my nephew and also my God son. I remember the day he came into the world and am sad that it took 5 years to find out the date that he departed. Troy was a quiet, calm and contented child who maintained that quiet, calm personality into adulthood. I can still visualize his quiet voice and smile. He made the choice to serve by becoming a member of the US Marine Corps and served well. Like many others who returned from the Gulf war he wrestled with health issues which he tried his utmost to manage. Troy was loved and his absence has left a void in the hearts of his siblings and the entire family. Sleep in Peace Troy, your Mama has joined you now. Your name sits in a place with the Hero's who chose to serve. Thank you for your service, Soldier.


Troy was my brother. I lost contact with him and have been trying to find him for 5 years. It breaks my heart knowing my brother died along when he had 6 siblings. He had a extended family of over 300 and will be missed. As I write this my heart aches for my brother.
