WILLIAM KANE

William Joseph Kane was born on December 17th, 1872, in New Orleans, Louisiana. William was the son of Ann Kane, and he had an older sister named Mary E. Millington. William was slender, with medium height, black hair, and dark brown eyes. He enlisted in the Army and was assigned to the 9th Cavalry, Troop H. He entered the military on May 25, 1899, but the date of his exit was not specified. He married Virginia Kane on July 24, 1901, in New Orleans, Louisiana, when he was 28 years old. They had four children together: Joseph, Henry, Mary E., and Clarence. After his military service, William moved to southern California and lived in Watts, Compton, and Los Angeles. He worked in various occupations, including laborer, gardener, and street worker. William Joseph Kane passed away on July 24, 1927, at the age of 55, in Los Angeles, California.
